Megadyne Information Systems Miami

The MDTA Customer Information System (CIS) project is an implementation of two Megadyne software products: PARISŪ and PARISpeakŪ. The CIS project was completed in 1991, one month ahead of schedule.

The MDTA (Miami-Dade Transit Authority) operates a multi-modal public transportation system serving over 1.5 million people in the Miami, Florida metropolitan area. The three modes are (1) MetroRail, a heavy rail system; (2) People Mover, an elevated fully-automated light rail system; and (3) a fleet of buses. Together they comprise 550 vehicles.

At Miami, PARISŪ and PARISpeakŪ are installed on Digital computers running the VMS operating systems. The system is accessed by information agents using VT-250 terminals.
