Megadyne Information Systems Denver
Megadyne's PARIS® software was installed in the first computerized Trip Information and Planning System (TRIPS) at Denver's Regional Transportation District (RTD) in 1986. TRIPS includes a Telephone Information Center that is staffed 17 hours each day, 7 days per week with 27 information agents during prime shift hours. RTD is the nation's 21st largest (fleet size) public transit agency. It has 1900 employees and operates more than 750 vehicles. It is the public transit provider for 2,400 square miles in and around Denver, Colorado, USA. RTD's 163 bus routes and one light rail line carried almost 71 million riders in 1997, serving the residents of the 44 municipalities in a six-county district as well as visitors to Denver.
In the TRIPS, PARIS® is installed on a Prime computer running PRIMOS, and the system is accessed by information agents using Prime terminals.
